Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and music producer. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by a lot of Americans. Her confidence began to grow during the 9th grade, when she appeared in an audition. She received a lot of praise for her singing. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed the direction she was heading in her the future. In 1992 she graduated with her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. She began her career at the age of 23 in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and The You've Got Mail film. But her biggest break came when she played the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway performance of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. The actress is also a renowned singer and has published an extended version of her play. Also, she's been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
