Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford has been involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. As it is a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford is set to return in 2023, and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford's latest part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford now splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
