Bellamy Young was born in Asheville in North Carolina on the 19th of February in 1970. Played Mellie Grant in the role of First Lady in ABC's Scandal. Beth Clemmons played by her in CBS Criminal Minds. She also worked as a writer, and producer with writer-producer Shonda Rhimes in both Private Practice and Scandal. Both on Scandal and Private Practice. She was a graduate of Asheville High School, graduating in 1987. In 1991, she graduated from Yale University, where she studied English and theatre.
